For many years I had a very successful and satisfying career. That success afforded my family and me an extremely pleasant life style. I had everything I needed for a comfortable life and a bright future. By all accounts, I had the world by the tail. Then with a word, life as I knew it came to a screeching halt.
Cancer.
It's really impossible to comprehend the enormity of what that word represents until it strikes you or someone close to you. But I was one of the lucky ones. I survived the battle back to good health and gained an awareness of the really important things in life. It's strange, but when you're looking down that long dark tunnel and you're not quite sure if the light at the end might just be an oncoming train, you tend to take a long, hard look at where you've been and where you're going. I consider myself fortunate to have grown in love, appreciation and awareness, and for that I am truly blessed.
Through all the good times and bad, I've had the support and unconditional love of my amazing wife, who I adore and

appreciate with all my heart. I have two wonderful children I'm proud and thankful to say are both healthy and living happy, fulfilled lives. And with four beautiful grandchildren, who are the light of my life, I'm incredibly blessed to get to see the world through their innocent eyes. I can openly say that I get down on my knees every day in gratitude for my family, the ability to take care of them, my continuing good health and my truly fulfilled life. I make a concerted effort to try very hard - in every part of my life - to not take any good fortune for granted and consider each day and every person in my life a blessing for which to be grateful.
